A black framed pair of sunglasses by the most recognisable and desirable name, Persol.  This particular frame is part of their "Sports Line", and was a break away form the traditional  celluloid  material that was used on eyewear.  These glasses are  made in a material that Persol developed known as GHMP  (Grilamid High Molecular Performance).  

This material was designed to be anti-toxic, anti-static, anti-allergic,  resistant to detergents, resistant to perspiration both PH acid and Basic (0 14), as well as light and very durable.  The crystal lenses are polarised  glass tempered (heat treated) to prevent injury to the eyes,  multi coated UV protection against harmful UVA and UVB rays.  They are known as the Lenti Neutre, and are a dark brown tinted colour.

The lenses and frames are signed Persol with model number 405 01.  They are in unworn 'new old stock' condition.  Made in Italy. Circa 1985.
